Helen C. Kudelka, age 79 of West, passed away Thursday, February 1, 2001 at her residence. Funeral services were held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at West Brethren Church, with the Rev. Don Ketcham and the Rev. Lawrence Junek officiating. Burial followed at West Brethren Cemetery. The family received visitors from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Mrs. Kudelka was born March 17, 1921 in West, the daughter of Joseph and Carrie Foit. She graduated from West High School in 1938. She married Milton W. Stover and he preceded her in death on October 11, 1957. She then married Edmund Leon Kudelka on November 24, 1962 in West. He preceded her in death on July 10, 1992. Helen enjoyed gardening, raising flowers and being with her family. She was a member of the American Ex-P.O.W. Chapter No. 1 in Waco and a 50 year member of S.P.J.S.T. Lodge No. 54. She was a lifetime member of West Brethren Church where she was a Sunday School teacher and officer, taught Vacation Bible School, a member of the choir and a very active member of the Christian Sisters. She is survived by two daughters, Carole McNeil and her husband Alan of Sugarland and Patte Cloud of Houston; three sisters, Polly Barton and Anna Ruth Lovecky, both of West and Dorothy Schovajsa of Inez; one brother, Robert D. Foit of Irving; two sister-in-laws, Doris Foit of West and Josephine Harper of Waco; one brother-in-law, Albin Foit of West; three grandchildren, Dr. Donald Willig and his wife Holly of Fairfield, California, Sherri Jones and her husband Gary of Euless and Jeff Cloud of Houston; eight great-grandchildren, Cody Rosenblatt, Casy Rosenblatt, Connor Jones, Carrie Jones, Colton Willig, Cara Willig, Allie Willig and Summer Willig and several nieces and nephews.
