W.C. Gilchrest Dies In Borger, Services Held Here Funeral services for Willie Cecil Gilchrest, 68, of Borger were held Sunday at the Travis Baptist Church at 4 p.m. Rev. Leroy Gaston, pastor, officiated. Burial was in the Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Spicer Funeral Home. Mr. Gilchrest passed away at his home in Borger, 709 3rd St., Friday, July 16, at 3:45 p.m. He was a retired construction worker. He was born Jan. 29, 1897, in Leesville, Tex. On July 1, 1918, he married Miss Dora Scarberry in Cleburne, Tex. He lived in Memphis from 1925 until 1948 when he moved to Borger. Survivors include his wife of the home, five sons, Leonard, Jack, Melvon, Willie Cecil, Jr., and Eddie, all of Borger; one daughter, Mrs. Dora Faye McClanahan of Lubbock; his mother, Mrs. Abbie Gilchrest of Amarillo; one brother, Theodore of Hedley; and two sisters, Mts. Ida Woodall of Amarillo and Mrs. Ada Peral Richardson of California.
