Bio

Mrs. Sophie Janek, 91, of West, died Tuesday evening, January 29, 1980 in the West nursing home. Rosary was recited at Kotch Funeral Home in West at 6:45 p.m. Wednesday. Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at 2 p.m. Thursday at St. Mary's Catholic Church in West, the Rev. George Doskocil celebrant. Burial followed in St. Mary's Cemetery. Mrs. Janek was born in Fayetteville, but lived most of her life in West. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, the KJZT Society No. 11 and Catholic Daughters Court 829. Survivors include one son, Harry Janek of Smithville, one brother, Charlie G. Janak of Smithville; one granddaughter; and one great-grandchild.
