West Couple Found Dead In West Tuesday Mr. and Mrs. Jerome J. Janak of West were found dead Tuesday at their home. He was 80 and she was 81. Justice of the Peace Joe Edd Grimm ordered an autopsy, but had made no ruling Tuesday night, Grimm said it appeared the couple died as a result of asphyxiation from a gas heater. Rosary was recited Wednesday in Kotch Funeral Chapel in West. Requiem mass will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption in West with Rev. George Doskocil officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery. Mr. Janak was born in Fayetteville and had lived in the West area most of his life. He was a retired farmer and butcher. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption and the SPJST Lodge No. 54. Mrs. Janak, the former Albina Janek, was born in West. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption, Catholic Daughters Court No. 829, and the Altar Rosary Society. Mr. and Mrs. Janak are survived by one daughter, Mrs. Eddie (Velma) Schuetz of Abbott. Survivors of Mr. Janak include one brother, Charlie Janak of Smithville; three sisters, Miss Rose Janak and Mrs. Sophie Janak, both of West and Mrs. Francis Kabella of Granger.
