Bio

Death of Mrs. Janak A great loss has been suffered by the family and the many friends of Mrs. Frances Janak, when she departed from this life last Saturday night after an illness of several months. Mrs. Janak was 64 years of age, a native of Czecho-Slovakia, she moved tot this country with her parents and settled in Fayetteville when only nine years of age. Mrs. Janak moved to West from Fayetteville some 27 years ago, with her husband and family and had lived here ever since. Mrs. Janak raised a family of seven children, of whom she was justifiably proud, and she has the comfort and pleasure during her last days of having all of her children with her. She is survived by her husband, Joe Janak, four daughters, Mrs. Frances Kabella, Mrs. Rudolph Marak of West; Mrs. Sophia Janek and Miss Rose Janak of Temple, and 3 sons, Joe Janak, Jr. of Smithville; Charles and Jerome Janak of West, and three sister, Mrs. Conrad Drawe, Mrs. Henry Heintschel, both of Fayetteville and Mrs. Verona Behal of West, and three grandchildren, Louise Kabella, Harry Janak and Velma Janak. The funeral took place Monday morning from the Church of the Assumption with interment at the Catholic Cemetery in West, after a requiem high Mass celebrated by the Rev. Jos. Pelnar, who was assisted by the associate pastor, Rev. A.W. Neavadba, both of whom accompanied the body to the cemetery to perform the last rites. The church was filled to capacity with the many friends of Mrs. Janak by whom she was greatly loved and esteemed because of her wonderful character, her readiness at all times to assist those in distress and her devotion to church work. Those of her family who survive her have the consolation of knowing that she has gone to a well deserved rest after many years of service as a faithful and loving wife and a devoted mother.
