Mrs. R.J. Marak, 88, Dies; Rites Held Monday Mrs. Rudolph J. (Alvina) Marak, 88, of 310 West Broadway died Saturday afternoon in a West hospital. Rosary was recited at 7:30 p.m. at her home. Requiem mass was celebrated at 11 a.m. Monday at St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption of West, Rev. Earl Hedberg as celebrant. Burial was in St. Mary's Cemetery at West. Kotch Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Marak was born in Fayetteville and had lived in West 72 years. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption and SPJST Lodge No. 54, of West. She married Rudolph Marak Oct. 30, 1906. He died Feb. 22, 1964. Survivors include three sisters, Mrs. Sophie Janek and Miss Rose Janak both of West, and Mrs. Frances Kabella of Granger; three brothers, Joe Janak and Charlie Janak, both of Smithville, and Jerome Janak of West; and several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers were Ernest Bezdek, Michael Spacek, Andrew Hlavaty, Joe Vitek, Henry Rydel and Clem Mikeska. The West News, West, Texas, Volume 82, No. 36, Edition 1, Friday, December 22, 1972, page 17.
