Beloved West Citizen Dies Mrs. J.F. Urbanovsky, 68, one of West's most beloved citizens, passed away last Thursday, January 7, in a Waco Hospital. Funeral services were conducted at the Church of The Assumption Saturday at 9:30 a.m. by Rev. E.J. Polcak and Rev. George Doskocil. Rosary services were conducted at her home Friday evening. Burial was in St. Mary's Cemetery. Mrs. Urbanovsky had been ill with pneumonia only a week prior to her death. On Sunday, January 3, she was carried to Providence Hospital in Waco where she passed away at 4:17 p.m. last Thursday. Mrs. Urbanovsky was born Hattie Haidek in Fayetteville on February 21, 1895. The daughter of John and Mary Haidek, she came to West with her family at the age of 13 and later was married to Mr. J.F. Urbanovsky on February 24, 1904. Her husband was the operator of the Star Store, then one of the largest businesses in West. He was killed in a train accident here in May, 1935. Mrs. Urbanovsky was an organizer and charter member of Court Sacred Heart, Catholic Daughters of America. She served this organization as its first Grand Regent. She was also a member of the Church of the Assumption Altar Society and the SPJST Lodge. She had served in the Texas Senate Mailing Room in Austin for the past six Legislative Sessions, and was one of the oldest workers, in point of service, in this State office. Survivors are a son, Elo Urbanovsky of Lubbock; a daughter, Mrs. H.J. Kozelski of West; a sister, Mrs. Fred Holchak of Waxahachie; four brothers, Frank Haidek of West, John Haidek of Hillsboro, Joe Haidek of Beaumont, Louis Haidek of Oklahoma City, Okla., a grandson, Joe Urbanovsky of Lubbock. Pallbearers were George E. Kacir, Jos. F. Holasek, Frank P. Prasifka, Clement Deiterman, and two nephews, J.A. Urbanovsky of Eddy and Ray Urbanovsky of Temple.
