Services Held Saturday For Joe Tobola Funeral services for Joe Tobola, 78, of Route 1, West, were held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 17 in St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption in West, Rev. James O'Connor officiated; burial was in St. Mary's Cemetery. Rosary was recited at Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel at 7:30 p.m. Friday. Mr. Tobola died Thursday evening in a Waco nursing home after a short illness. Mr. Tobola was a native of Texas and a retired farmer. He married Miss Bessie Marek on Nov. 10, 1914. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption. He had been a member of SPJST Lodge No. 54 at West since 1912. Survivors include two sons, Ernest Tobola, Sr., of West, and Joe F. Tobola of Waco; two daughters, Mrs. Mary Rejcek of Waco, and Mrs. Frances Moore of Lakeview; three brothers, Jim Tobola and Emil Tobola, both of West, and Bill Tobola of Ross; three sisters, Mrs. Julie Marek of Waco, Mrs. Frances Blahuta of Dallas and Mrs. Sophie Richter of Flatonia; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers were Ernest Tobola, Jr., Dennis Moore, Bernard Chudej, Ronald Gerik, Henry Tobola, and Bennie Marek.
