Frances Rejcek Tichavsky, age 89 of West, passed away early Friday morning, May 18, 2001 at West Rest Haven. A rosary was recited at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at the Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated 1:30 p.m. Sunday at St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption in West, with the Rev. Ed Karasek as celebrant. Burial followed at St. Mary's Cemetery. Mrs. Tichavsky was born November 29, 1911 near West, the daughter of Anton and Mary Rejcek. She attended school at St. Mary's Catholic School and Alligator School in West. She married Louis Roman Tichavsky on July 8, 1940 in West. He preceded her in death on March 9, 1999. She was a homemaker and enjoyed being with her family. She also loved working with crafts, quilting, gardening and cooking. She was a member of K.J.Z.T. Society No. 105 in Hillsboro and St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption and St. Anne's Altar Society in West. She is also preceded in death by two brothers, Raymond Rejcek and Valentine Rejcek and one sister, Mary Pavelka. She is survived by one daughter, Beatrice Nors and her husband Bill of West; three brothers, Anton Rejcek, Jr. and Bob Rejcek, both of West and Louis Rejcek of Covington; two sisters, Josephine Sulak and Julie Grmela, both of Abbott; three grandchildren, Richard Nors and his wife Karen, Melissa Gerik and her husband Mike and Melinda Muhl and her husband Jimmy, all of West; four great-grandchildren, Nathan and Nicole Nors and Jacob and Haley Muhl and several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers were Richard Nors, Mike Gerik, Jimmy Muhl, Anthony Rejcek, Paul Grmela and Harry Rejcek. Aderhold Funeral Home in West was in charge of arrangements.
