Mrs. Albert F. (Josephine) Sulak, age 98 of Hillsboro, passed away Monday afternoon, September 3, 2001 in Hillsboro. A rosary was recited at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Abbott, by the Rev. Jerry Ryan, O.S.A. Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Abbott, with the Rev. Ron Scheible, O.S.A. as celebrant. Burial followed at Fatima Cemetery. Mrs. Sulak was born August 23, 1903 in Praha, the daughter of Anton V. and Mary Rejcek. She attended Sulak's School and St. Mary's Catholic School in West. She married Albert Frank Sulak, Sr. on October 10, 1022 in West. He preceded her in death on February 21, 1086. She was a homemaker. Josephine enjoyed gardening, sewing, cooking and baking for her family. She was a former member of Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church in Hillsboro, where she served on the Ladies' Altar Society. She later joined the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Abbott, where she also served on the Ladies' Altar Society. She is preceded in death by one son, Oldrich R. Sulak; one daughter-in-law, Helen Sulak; two grandsons, Ronnie Sulak and Nors infant; two granddaughters, Mary Helen Sulak and Mary Margaret Sulak and a great-grandson, Lyndon Charles Sulak. She is survived by three sons, Albert Sulak and his wife Caroline of Osceola, Abdon A. Suiak of Arlington and Paul Sulak and his wife Mary Frances of Hillsboro; two daughters, Dagmar Cepak and her husband Marvin of West and Netty Jo Nors and her husband Harry Gene of Abbott; three brothers, Anton Rejcek of West, Louis Rejcek of Covington and Bob Rejcek of Hillsboro; one sister, Julie Grmela of Abbott; 33 grandchildren, 57 great-grandchildren; 13 great-great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Active pallbearers were Albert J. Sulak, Abdon John Sulak, Sr., Michael Joseph Sulak, Stephen Paul Sulak, Ricky Boyd and Thomas Edwin Marek. Honorary pallbearers were all the grandchildren. Memorials may be made to West Volunteer Ambulance Association or to the charity of your choice. Aderhold Funeral Home in West was in charge of arrangements.
