Mrs. Joe F. (Anna) Petter, age 93, passed away early Friday morning, September 16, 1988, at the West Rest Haven. She had resided at Route 2, West, with her granddaughter and family, Mr. and Mrs. John (Patsy) Kaluza, Jr. Rosary was recited at 8 p.m. Friday evening at Kotch Funeral Home Chapel in West. Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at 4 p.m. Saturday at St. Mary's Catholic Church in West with the Rev. Isidore Rozycki as celebrant. Burial followed in St. Mary's Cemetery in West. Mrs. Petter was born July 25, 1895, in West. She had lived in the Abbott-West area all of her life. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, K.J.Z.T. No. 11, and the Altar Rosary Society. She married Joe F. Petter on July 9, 1923, at West; he preceded her in death on March 14, 1974. Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Joe (Evelyn) Soukup of Abbott; two sisters, Mary Marek of Dallas and Mrs. Otto (Agnes) Hanak of West; two brothers, Henry Matus of West and Ed Matus of Waco; nine grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Pallbearers were the grandsons: Jerry Soukup, Raymond Soukup, Alvin Soukup, Joe Soukup, Jr., John H. Polansky and Donald Holy.
