Requiem Mass Held Tues. For August Kocian, Sr. August R. Kocian Sr., of West died Sunday at his home. Rosary was recited at 8 p.m. Monday in Kotch Funeral Home Chapel. Requiem Mass was celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday in St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption with Rev. George Doskocil as celebrant. Burial was in St. Mary's Cemetery. Mr. Kocian was born in Fayette County and had lived in West the past 75 years. He was a retired farmer and a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church. Survivors are his wife, Anna; four sons, Albin L. Kocian of Route 1, West, Bernard Kocian and Walter Kocian, both of Waco, and August Kocian Jr. of West; four daughters, Miss Hattie Kocian, Mrs. Adolph (Willie Mae) Volcik, Mrs. Raymond (Tracie) Schroeder and Mrs. Floyd (Irene) Wolf, all of West; three brothers, Joe Kocian of Penelope, Steve Kocian of Marlin and Frank Kocian of Waco; three sisters, Mrs. Joe (Annie) Sembera of Bell Flower, Calif., Mrs. George (Sophie0 Abraham of Bremond and Mrs. Louis (Agnes) Lenart of Route 2, West; 24 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Pallbearers were David Schroeder, Richard Kocian, George Kocian, Roger Kocian, Larry Volcik, and David Pavelka.
