Bio

Haddie Kocian, age 84, of West, passed away Saturday evening, April 27, 2002, at West Rest Haven. Rosary was recited 7 p.m. Monday in Kotch Funeral Home by Deacon Buddy Shields. Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated 10 a.m. Tuesday in St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption in West, with Rev. Ed Karasek as celebrant. Burial followed in St. Mary's Cemetery in West. Miss Kocian was born October 23, 1917 in West and had lived in the West area all of her life. She was the second oldest of eleven children of August Kocian and Anna Nors Kocian. She was preceded in death by her mother and father; four sisters, Annie Kocian, Ruby Moncrief, Willie Mae Volcik and Tracie Schroeder; two brothers, George Kocian and Albin Kocian. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption in West; the K.J.Z.T. Society #11 of West. Miss Kocian had been employed with J.M. Wood Manufacturing and Waco Apparel for thirty-five years. Miss Kocian is survived by three brothers, Bernard Kocian and wife Ruby, Gus Kocian and wife Evelyn, and Walter Kocian, all of West; one sister, Mrs. Irene Wolf and husband Floyd; two brother-in-laws, Adolph Volcik and Jack Schroeder; one sister-in-law, Mary Lee Kocian, all of West, and several nieces and nephews. Active Pallbearers were Larry Volcik, Mark Kocian, Eddie Kocian, George Kocian, Roger Kocian, Larry Kocian, Floyd Duane Wolf and Gus Kocian, Jr. Honorary Pallbearers were David Schroeder, Ray Gene Schroeder, John Lee Schroeder, Richard Kocian, Michael Kocian, John Kocian and Walter Kocian, Jr. Kotch Funeral Home of West was in charge of arrangements.
