Robert Lee Kapavik, age 40, of West, died early Saturday morning, February 13, 1988 at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Waco. Rosary was recited at 6:30 p.m. Sunday, February 14 at Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel. Mass of Christian burial was celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Monday, February 15, 1988 at St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption with Msgr. Ray Widacki as Celebrant. Burial followed in the New Woodbury Cemetery near Hillsboro. Mr. Kapavik was born August 8, 1947 in West, the son of Henry and Regina Kapavik. He married Leona Coldiron in West on February 14, 1987. He was employed with the Waco Independent School District for the past six years. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 2305, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4819, American Legion 145, and SPJST Lodge 54. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption. Mr. Kapavik served his country with the United States Army during the Vietnam Era. He is survived by his wife, Leona Kapavik of West; his mother, Mrs. Regina Kapavik of West; his grandfather, Frank J. Kapavik of Route 1, West; one step-son, Timmy Guynes of West; two step-daughters, Tammy Guynes and Terry Guynes, both of West; two brothers, Henry Kapavik, Jr. and Jimmy Kapavik, both of West; two sisters, Mrs. Frank (Peggy) Kucera of Route 2, West, and Mrs. Raphael (Rita) Johnson of West; and several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers were: Frank Kapavik, Jr., Donald Kramer, Eddie Dudik, Harry Hlavenka, Daniel Dudik and Fred Kapavik. Honorary pallbearers were Bobby Lowe and Billy Kirby.
