Former West Resident Dies Mrs. John Gerik, 72, of Dallas, formerly of West, died Wednesday, Dec. 17 in a Dallas hospital. Mass of Christian Burial was at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Mary's Catholic Church in West, with Rev. Robert Sykora as celebrant. Burial followed in St. Mary's Cemetery in West. Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Rosalie Toay of Richardson and Margie Trammell of Athens; three brothers, Louis Sykora of Penelope, John Sykora and Joseph Sykora of Dallas; four sisters, Albina Vitek of Plano, Louise Matus of Bellmead, Jannie Petter and Martha Gajdica, both of Dallas; and six grandchildren.
