Bio
My great grandfather, Noah, was born in Houston, Chickasaw, Mississippi to William Norton and Henrietta Mary Ellen Tharp Young. His family moved to Texas about 1882 when he was about 7. They lived near Rockdale in Milam County where some of his younger siblings were born. He married Emma Mary Vieregge there in 1893. After marriage they lived near Killeen, Bell Co., Texas where all four of their children were born. In the 1900 Bell Census they were living in Precinct 8, Youngsport, Texas, a few miles from Killeen. A family friend, George McDuffy is living with them. Noah died from penumonia in Killeen in 1903 at age 28. His children were ages 6 months to 7 years old when he passed away.
