Adaline Curtis married Chester Ferrington on 8 June 1830 in Pennsylvania (unverified). Four of her children were born in Pennyslvania, three in Ohio, and two in Illinois. The family arrived in Illinois about 1850, settling in Kelley township of Warren county. Adaline also married Andrew Figg during 1859 in Oquawka, Henderson county, Illinois. No divorce papers have been found from her husband Chester in Warren county. Her second marriage appears to have been short-lived, as she was living in Galesburg with her children in the 1861 Galesburg city directory, listed under both "Adeline Farrington" and "Adaline Ferrington", the "widow of Chester". She was eventually reunited with Chester, as they were living with a married daughter in Monmouth as of the 1880 census. Adaline was taken to Kankakee Insane Hospital on 23 March 1885, where she died weeks later. The Warren county clerk received a telegram on Monday (13 April 1885), notifying of Adaline's death the day before (Source: Monmouth Atlas, 17 April 1885). Monmouth cemetery sexton's records show she was buried on 14 April 1885. A death certificate is on file at the Kankakee county courthouse, showing she died of heart failure at the hospital on 12 April 1885. Most of the information on the certificate was marked "unknown", including place of birth, exact age, place of burial, and funeral home.
