Bio

Herald Coaster, June 24, 1993: Funeral services for Vojt L. Vacek, 89, of Rosenberg, were held 10 a.m. Wednesday at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Rosenberg. Father George Sylvester officiated, with burial at West Gethsemane in Rosenberg. Mr. Vacek was born July 17, 1903 in Ammannsville. He died June 20 in Richmond. Mr. Vacek was preceded in death by his parents, six sisters, six brothers, and a grandson, Mark Joseph. Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Barbara Dudek Vacek of Rosenberg; a daughter and her husband, Cecelia and George Joseph of South San Francisco, Calif.; a son and his wife, Edward T. and Violet Vacek of Rosenberg; a sister, Ella Novak of Rosenberg; four grandchildren, Jim Joseph, Hunter Vacek, Holly Vacek, and Stacy Vacek; and four great-grandchildren. Pallbearers were his nephews, Daniel Gajewski, Willie Kubala, James Vacek, T.A. Bohac, Jimmy J. Zwahr, and Louis Vacek. Funeral arrangements were under the direction of the Davis Funeral Home in Rosenberg.
