John Wesley Burns, born January 22, 1895, departed this life November 25, 1965, at the age of 70 years, 10 months and 3 days. Son of Charles Henry and Minnie Mae George Burns, born in Indian Territory East of Marlow, Oklahoma. He was married to Dolphie Graham on October 17, 1915. To this union was born five children, three daughters, Lois Kepley, Portland, Oregon, Melba Ruth Boswell, Strong City, Oklahoma. One daughter Hazel, preceded him in death. Two sons, Melvin Burns, Albuquerque, New Mexico, Raymond Burns, Eureka, California. He leaves behind eight grandchildren of which three are adopted, four brothers, two sisters, and one has preceded him in death, and a host of other relatives and friends. He came to Roger Mills County in 1921 and has lived close to Strong City during this time. He gave his heart to the Lord during his illness. Cheyenne Star, Cheyenne, OK
