Bio

Fire claimed the life of "Red" Burns, 72, at his home in Cheyenne on Monday night, January 27, 1975. Services were held Wednesday, January 29, 1975 at 2:00 p.m. in the Cheyenne First Baptist Church. Clifford L. "Red" Burns was born August 21, 1902, in Sterling, and came to Roger Mills County in 1921. He was married October 20, 1922, to Pearl Smith in Cheyenne. He was a member of the Church of Christ. Survivors are 2 sons, Leland of Cheyenne and Bob of Oklahoma City; 1 brother, Leonard of Reydon; 2 sisters, Mary Julian of Sterling, and Mable Hammon of Mangum; 4 grandchildren, and 3 great grandchildren. Burial was in Cheyenne Cemetery, Cheyenne, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma under the direction of Scroggins and Son of Cheyenne. Cheyenne Star, Cheyenne, OK 6-Feb-1975
