Melvin's parent's were John Wesley and Dolph Graham Burns. Melvin went missing on August 25th in Oklahoma. His body has never been found but a headstone was placed next to his mother, father and sister. He had one brother Raymond Sidney and three sister's Hazel Nell, Lois Faye ( Kepley ) and Melba Ruth ( Boswell )Burns. Melvin had two son's Ronald and Donald Burns. Melvin Eugene Burns July 23, 1916 –August 25, 1981 Melvin Eugene Burns was born in Stephens County at Marlow, Oklahoma, to John Wesley Burns and Dorothy Dolphie Graham Burns. His untimely death occurred August 25, 1981. Melvin had one brother, Raymond Sydney Burns, and three sisters: Hazel Nell Burns, Lois Burns Kepley, Portland, Oregon, and Melba Ruth Burns Boswell, Strong City, Oklahoma. He is survived by two sons: Donald Burns of Albuquerque, New Mexico, and Ronald Burns of Fairbanks, Alaska; two grandsons; one granddaughter; five great grandchildren; and two nephews, John Thomas Boswell, Stillwater, Oklahoma, and Mark Boswell, Cheyenne, Oklahoma. Melvin was a true entrepreneur and began working at an early age. With a strong head for business and an even stronger work ethic, Melvin owned and operated his own businesses: Burns Truck and Parts, 6410 Second St. N.W. Albuquerque, New Mexico, and Mel Burns Chevrolet, Cheyenne, Oklahoma. Melvin enjoyed bowling, and he and his son Ron bowled on several leagues in Albuquerque. However, he had no true hobbies because he devoted himself to his businesses and work. Graveside services will be Sunday, March 16, 2025 at 2:00 PM at Strong City Cemetery, Strong City, Oklahoma. Rev. Larry Parvin will officiate. Interment will be at Strong City Cemetery, Strong City, Oklahoma. Services are under the direction of Richard and Tammy Dugger and the staff of Martin-Dugger Funeral Home and Cremation Services
