Bio
Marietta Herl, 76, a resident of St. John's of Victoria for 20 years, and formerly of Hays, died Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2008, at Hays Medical Center. She was born Nov. 29, 1931, in Munjor to Jerome and Philomena (Pfannenstiel) Herl. She was a homemaker. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Hays. Survivors include two sisters, Armella Wittman and Alice Kreutzer, both of Hays and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by four brothers, Celestine Herl, Edwin Herl, Alvin Herl and Ralph Herl and three sisters, Regina Leiker, Irene Von Feldt, and Leona Geist. Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Joseph Catholic Church; burial in St. Joseph Cemetery, Hays. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today and from 9 to 9:30 a.m. Saturday, both at Hays Memorial Chapel Funeral Home, 20th and Pine. A vigil will be at 6:30 p.m. today at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to Masses in care of the funeral home. Hays Daily News, 2/22/2008
