Bio

Irene VonFeldt, 82, died Dec. 9, 2001, at Hays Medical Center, Hays. She was born Oct. 19, 1919, at Munjor, the daughter of Jerome and Philomena Pfannenstiel Herl. A resident of Victoria since 1984, she was a homemaker and worked for 12 years at Travonal-Baxter Labs, Hays. She belonged to St. Fidelis Catholic Church, Christian Mothers, Secular Franciscan Order and was a former member of the Vincent Christian Mothers. On Oct. 25, 1938, she married John J. VonFeldt at Vincent. He died July 11, 1988. Survivors include: three sons, Gerald J., Jim and John, all of Victoria; two daughters, Darlene Schlesinger, Wichita, and Diane Ruder, Hays; five sisters, Regina Leiker, Armella Wittman, Alice Kreutzer and Leona Geist, all of Hays, and Marietta Herl, Victoria; 15 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by four brothers, Celestine, Edwin, Alvin and Ralph Herl. Hutchinson News Hutchinson, Kansas Dec. 11, 2001
