He was married to Myrtle Ruth Kendall on June 27, 1912 in Carrollton, Carroll County, Ohio. William's birth is recorded in Carroll County Book 2, page 113. His obituary in the Free Press Standard, Carrollton, Ohio, Thursday, October 25, 1962. William Albert Patterson, 73, of Rt. 2, Scio, died Monday in his home after an illness of several months. He was born November 23, 1888, at Rt. 2, Scio, a son of the late John and Addie (Amos) Patterson, and was a life resident of that area, having died on the farm he was born on. A former employee of The Scio Pottery Company, Mr. Patterson was a retired farmer. He was a member of Perrysville Grange and Perrysville EUB Church. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Myrtle Kendall Patterson; a son, Leonard of Lincoln, Nebraska; five daughters, Mrs. Annie Burton, Mrs. Alberta Beatty and Mrs. Nadine Custer of Scio, Mrs. Francis Minnick and Mrs. Thelma McNab of Jewett; two sisters, Mrs. Bessie Logan of Rt. 1, Bowerston, and Mrs. Annie Umpleby of Rt. 2, Scio; 17 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Services will be at 2 p.m. this Thursday in the Purviance Funeral Home, Scio. Burial will be in the EUB Church cemetery at Perrysville.
