DECATUR HERALD 1/8/1979 TRUMAN S RAY Funeral services for Truman Shelbourne Ray, 85 of Decatur, formerly of Sullivan are being held at 10 am Tuesday at the Dawson & Wikoff funeral home in Decatur. Visitation was set for 5 to 8 pm Monday and Masonic Rites planned for 8 pm. Burial will be in Graceland cemetery in Decatur. Mr. Ray died at 6:45 am Saturday, Jan. 6, in Lincoln Manor North nursing home. He was born in Sullivan, a son of Robert Christopher and Carrie Wright Ray and married Elsie Dunaway in 1974. He was retired from the Wabash railway and was a member of the Third United Brethren church, Stephen Decatur, Masonic Lodge 979, Macon chapter 21, Beaumanoir Commandery 9 and the Wabash Ashlar Club. Survivors include his wife, sons, Willard E, Louis S and Rolland K, all of Decatur, Stepson Delford Rainey of Decatur and daughter Mrs. Madeline Helm of Decatur, Stepdaughters, Mrs.Alta Myer and Mrs. Beverly Stovall both of Decatur and Mrs. Marie Clifton of Wapella, Two brothers, Clifford of Altamont and Russell of Jinks, Oklahoma, seven grandchildren,21 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. Truman was raised in the Altamont Illinois area. He married Rena Krohn 11/23/1912 in Sullivan. They had four children.
