Clifford E. Ray, 79 of Altamont died at 2:30 am Friday, March 19, in St. Anthony Memorial hospital, Effingham. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 pm today(Monday)in the First United Methodist church, Altamont. Gleseking Funeral home in Altamont is in charge of arrangements.Burial will be in Union cemetery in Altamont. Born in Sullivan, Mr. Ray was the son of Robert Christopher and Carrie(Wright) Ray. He was a retired supervisor at Western Electric Co, Chicago, a member of Altamont First United Methodist church and Altamont Masonic Lodge 533. He married Dorothy Mildred Hern in 1939. Surviving is his wife. Five brothers and two sisters preceded him in death.
