DECATUR HERALD NOV 1985 Mrs. Rena M. Ray, 92 formerly of the Oxford House, died at 3:35 am Friday, Nov 22, 1985 in Decatur Memorial hospital, Long term care Unit. Services will be at 1;30 pm Monday in Dawson & Wikoff colonial Chapel North with visitation after noon Monday. Burial will be in Graceland cemetery. Mrs. Ray was born in Gilmore,Illinois, daughter of Frank and Mary Babbs Krohn. She was a member of Church of Brethern and Order of the Eastern Star. Surviving are her son, Louis S. and Rolland, both of Decatur, daughter, Madeline Helm of Hawaii. Seven granchildren 15 great grandchildren. One son, two brothers and two grandchildren preceded her in death. Rena married Truman Ray 11/23/1912 in Sullivan Illinois. They later divorced. Rena loved to fish and was taken fishing by her sons to Lake Shelbyville and other lakes. She would be on the porch at 5 am waiting for someone to pick her up and she would have a great day. She worked at Muellers well into her late 70s and 80s. She was a great grandmother and when you spent the night at her house she would entertain you with stories.
