Decatur Herald 1/15/1975 Mrs.William(Edna Pearl Ray) Devore 80, of Altamont died 10:15 am Tuesday in Pleasant Acres Nursing home,Altamont. Funeral services will be 1 pm Thursday in Altamont First United Methodist church. Friends may call 3 to 9 pm Wednesday in Gieseking funeral home,Altamont. Burial will be in Union cemetery,Altamont. Mrs.DeVore was born in Illinois. She was a member of Altamont First United Methodist church,Eastern Star,Rebekah Lodge,National Illinois and Effingham county, Retired Teachers Association. She married William DeVore in Altamont. He died in 1928. Surviving are sons Raymond of Altamont,Rev.Gehl Devore of Waukegan,Linder DeVore of St. Charles,sister,Myrl Ray of Altamont,brothers,Clifford W. Ray of Altamont,Truman S.Ray of Decatur,Russsell and Walton Ray, both of Ohio, seven grandchildren,eight great grandchildren. Three brothers preceded her in death.
