Wilhelmina Mary "Willie" Black, 93, of Waco, passed away Wednesday, December 13, 2006. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m., Saturday, Dec. 16, at Pecan Grove Funeral Home with her son, Donald Scott officiating. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m., Friday at the funeral home. Willie was born in Tours, Texas, to the late John Clement and Mary Catherine Uptmore. She was loved by everyone who knew her. She was known for her hospitality and kindness, and for having the best iced tea in town. Her home was a gathering place for friends and family, and everyone loved to visit with her there. She was a long time faithful member of Full Gospel Assembly Church. Willie was preceded in death by her first husband, William Lee Scott; her husband of 40 years, Jimmy T. Black; sons, Robert Lewis Scott, Billy Scott, and Rocky Black; grandson, Jason Gray; brothers, August, Johnny, Alvin, and Virgil Uptmore; and sisters, Katy Recek and Florence Bowie. Survivors include sons, Jesse Scott and wife, Marrietta, of Waco, Donald Scott and wife, Nancy, also of Waco, David Scott and wife, Linda, of Grand Prairie, and Tex Black and wife, Helen, of Elm Mott; daughters, Era Mae McFalls and Patsy Webb, both of Waco, Sylvia Gaylor and husband, Don, of Chalk Bluff, and Yvonne Webb and husband, Lonnie, of McGregor; 24 grandchildren, 50 great-grandchildren; and 12 great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Josephine Curry and husband, Sam, Ernestine Kaluza and husband, Rudy, and Ruby Vrba; daughters-in-law, June Scott and Billie Black; sisters-in-law, Elenora Uptmore and Alma "Sissy" Uptmore; as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
