Tex Wayne Black, 66, of Elm Mott, passed away Saturday, May 11, 2013. A chapel service will be 10 a.m., Wednesday, May 15, at Pecan Grove Funeral Home with his brother, Donald Scott, officiating. Burial will follow at Rosemound Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, May 14, at the funeral home. Tex was born in Waco, Texas, to the late Jimmy and Wilhemena Black. After 31 years, he retired from Yellow Freight Lines. Tex loved to play guitar and sing with family and friends. He also loved to plant a vegetable garden every year and to take care of his cows. Tex was preceded in death by brothers, Bill Scott and Rocky Black; and brothers-in-law, Jim Webb and Richard McFalls. Tex is survived by his wife, Helen, of Elm Mott; daughters, Sherry Perry and husband, Steve, of Waco, and Makayla Black Chavez and husband, Mathew, of Robinson; sons, Robert Black and wife, Joyce, of Lorena, Steve Black and wife, Cheryl, of Rowlett, and Jimmy Black and wife, Kristi, of Forney; his Chihuahua Tippy; 14 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; sisters, Era Mae McFalls, and Patsy Webb, both of Waco, Sylvia Gaylor and husband, Don, of Chalk Bluff, and Yvonne Webb and husband, Lonnie, of Riesel; brothers, Jesse Scott and wife, Marrieta, and Donald Scott and wife, Nancy, all of Waco, and David Scott and wife, Linda, of Grand Prairie; sisters-in-law, June Scott and Billie Black, both of Waco; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
