Bio

Absalom Wells was born Feb 16, 1832 in Grayson County, Kentucky to Samuel and Matilda Wells. He married Eliza Ann Ware, daughter of James and Mary Ware, on December 18, 1872. After their marriage they moved to Redding, Iowa where Absalom became a large land owner. He was also in the California Gold Rush and struck gold; it is said that he had to walk most of the trip home to Iowa after his horse died. Absalom died on November 14, 1887 at the age of 53. He was survived by his wife Eliza, and their seven children.
