Bio

Samuel married Matilda (Brunk)Wells in 1826. He and Matilda died one day apart. They had ten children. OBITUARY Samuel D. Wells, husband of Matilda Wells, died January 8, 1892. He also was born in Grayson County, Kentucky in 1805, and was just 85 years, 6 months and 23 days old. The writer knew him long and well, he was honest, industrious and in possession of a competence and wealth. He contended earnestly for the old Jerusalem Gospel as preached by the Inspired Apostles of Jesus Christ. In this faith he lived, in this he died. Appropriate religious services were conducted by Elder J.H. Ragan of Bloomfield, after which with a large gathering of sympathizing friends, we repaired to the Dunnville Cemetery where the bodies were laid side by side in the same grave to sleep till the great Resurrection Morn. May the dead children be able to say, Good-by Father, Good by Mother, we'll meet again. How sweet the word, how soothing its sound. Like strains of far off music heard on some enchanted ground. M.
