Bio

Matilda(Brunk)Wells was married to Samuel Duncan Wells. They died one day apart. They had ten children. OBITUARY Died at her residence four miles north of Bloomfield January 7 1892. Matilda Wells wife of Samuel D. Wells, at the age of 85 years, 9 months and 8 days. Her maiden name was Brunk. She was born in Grayson County, Kentucky March 29 1805. She was married to Samuel D. Wells in 1826 and moved to Iowa in June 1846, on the old homestead where she has lived with her husband ever since, with the exception of two years they lived in Bloomfield. As a result of this union, eleven children were born unto them, seven sons and four daughters, six of whom are living and four are on the other side. Sister Wells was a Christian, she died in the triumph, of a living faith in Jesus, the Christ. She said to her children present, I am only waiting, I am ready to go; my work is done. She united with the church at the age of 31 years.
