Jerry A. Sinkule, 89, of West, passed away Sunday, November 12, 2006, in Waco. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, November 14, 2006, with Rosary recitation at 7 p.m., at the Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m., Wednesday, November 15, at St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption in West, with the Rev. Ed Karasek as Celebrant. Military graveside rites will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery conducted by West V.F.W. Post No. 4819. Jerry was born on the family farm to the late Matt and Frances Hejl Sinkule. He was raised and attended schools in Tokio and St. Mary's School in West. Jerry enlisted in the United States Army and served during World War II for five years and was honorably discharged as a Sergeant in August of 1945. On April 11, 1955, he married Margaret Mary Grmela in West. Jerry was a farmer and rancher; also worked for Fleetwood, Broadmore, Centurion, and Richardsons all for over 30 years before retiring in 1985. He was a member of Knights of Columbus Council #2305 and a lifelong member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption. Interests included fishing, hunting, and traveling. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Bridget Sinkule; a son, Robert Sinkule; and seven brothers and sisters. Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Margaret Sinkule, of West; sons, Jerry Sinkule, of West, Tim Sinkule and his wife, Tammy, of China Spring, and Mark Sinkule and his wife, Jackie, of West; daughter, Joni Pilgrim and her husband, Larry, of Ross; grandchildren: Tennille Pilgrim and her friend, Brad Harwell, Rachel Harrington and husband, Nick, Mark Sinkule, Jr., Ryan Sinkule, Holly Sinkule, Chad Sinkule, Cody Harris, and Zeb Sinkule; great-grandson, Chase Harwell; brother, Johnnie Sinkule, of West; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
