JOHN LOYD JONES OF NOLAN DIES; SERVICES MONDAY Sweetwater - John Loyd Jones, 78, of Nolan, a retired farmer, died at Simmons Memorial Hospital at 7:50 p.m. Saturday after a short illness. Services will be held Monday at 2 p.m. in Nolan Baptist Church with burial at Slaters Chapel with G. K. Corley officiating, assisted by Jesse B. Ramsey. Patterson Funeral Home has charge of arrangements. Mr. Jones came to Nolan County in 1916 and farmed near Anson for 30 years. He married Fannie Delle Ashabranner in 1907. Survivors are his wife; five sons, Rev. C. N. Jones of Montgomery, Texas, Bernard and Robert, both of Nolan, Rex of Abilene and J. L. of Pasadena; three daughters, Mrs. Lyra Modrall of Mount Pleasant, Mrs. Algia Payne of Edmondton, Canada, and Mrs. Lora Ramsey of Maljanar, N.M.; 69 grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Grandsons will be pallbearers.
