Algia (Jones) Payne March 19, 1919 ~ October 8, 2022 (age 103) Algia Jones Payne, age 103, of Grapevine, Texas (former resident of Nolan, Texas), passed away on Saturday, October 8, 2022 at her home. Graveside services will be held 10:00 A.M., Tuesday, October 11, 2022 at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Anson, Texas. Arrangements are under the direction of Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home. Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, October 10, 2022 from 5:00 - 7:00 P.M. Algia was born on March 19, 1919 in Nolan, Texas to John and Fannie Bell (Ashabranner) Jones. She married Walter Carter Payne on January 16, 1937 in Abilene, Texas. She was a member of Nolan Baptist Church and then attended First Baptist Church of Grapevine, Texas. She was a wife, mother and homemaker. She is survived by son, Douglas Lynn Payne and wife Pauline of Carrollton, Texas; daughter-in-law, Sherry Payne of Grapevine, Texas; daughter, Glenda Marie Payne of Grapevine, Texas; five grandchildren, Cindy Payne Rutter (husband Michael Rutter), Wesley Payne (wife Sophia Morgan), Paula Corbello, Christopher Baker, and Lauren Baker Crawford (husband Darren Crawford); and two great-grandchildren, Nathan and Andrew Corbello.
