Mrs. Jones Dies at 78 Sweetwater - Mrs. J. L. Jones, 78, died at 1:40 p.m. Tuesday at Simmons Memorial Hospital following a three-week illness. Funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Nolan Baptist Church, with the Rev. James L. Kinsey, the Rev. Kay Corley and the Rev. J. V. Ramsey officiating. Burial will be in Slater's Chapel Cemetery with Patterson Funeral Home in charge. She was born Oct. 9, 1888 in Williamson County. The married John L. Jones in 1907 in Florence. They moved to Nolan County in 1916, then moved to Jones County for 31 years. The moved back to Nolan County one year ago. He died Nov. 12, 1966. Survivors are five sons, the Rev. C. N. Jones of Montgomery, Bernard and Robert, both of Nolan, Rex of Abilene and J. L. of Pasadena; three sisters, Mrs. Lyra Modrall of Mount Pleasant, Mrs. Algia Payne of Odessa and Mrs. Lora Ramsey of Maljamar, N. M.; one sister, Mrs. Julia Griggs of Belton; 26 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren. Grandsons will be pallbearers.
