SD--Sturgis Tribune....24 Apr 1952 LAURA SIMONS GORMAN: [Died in Sturgis] The former Laura Simons was born 18 Sep 1884 in Stewart NE. In March 1909 she wed Thomas Gorman. She is survived by her son: Thomas-Lead & a dau: MrsKathleen Baxter-LosAngeles CA. Also surviving are sis: MrsJess King-Faith; MrsEd Morgan-SanFrancisco CA; MrsFred Quinn-Sturgis & MrsWilliam Calloway-Lancaster WI; bros: Grant Simons-WhiteOwl & Garfield Simons-Enning. Service was held Monday[4-21] with a Solemn High Mass at StPatrick's Church-Lead. Father Thomas Gorman was celebrant of the Mass for his mother, assisted by RevBernard Shanley-StPatrick's as deacon & RevCharles Quinn-New Underwood as subdeacon. The Most Rev Wm McCarty, CSSR, DD, Bishop of Rapid City con-ducted the absolution & delivered a short sermon. The StPatricks Church choir sang the Mass & special music. Pallbearers were athletes of St Patrick's High School of which Father Gorman is director. Burial was in the Catholic Cem-Sturgis. {StAloysius}
