SD - Faith Independent 30 Mar 1955 MARY QUINN: This community was grieved to learn of the passing of Mrs. Fred Quinn at Sturgis. Mr. and Mrs. Quinn were among the pioneer homesteaders of this section. When the little inland town of Tama was flourishing, during the time known as the Honeyacker Days, they operated a grocery store at Tama. Mrs. Quinn, formerly Mary Simons came to White Owl country with her parents in 1886, at the age of 6 years. Mr. and Mrs. Quinn were former residents of Faith, where they operated a store for several years. She was well and favorably known for her winning ways and pleasant smile. She leaves to mourn her passing her husband; 2 sons: Warren, Sturgis and James, Rapid City; 1 daughter: Mrs. Agnes Regan, Sturgis; 8 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; 2 brothers: Grant and Gary Simons, White Owl; 3 sisters: Mrs. Jesse King, Sturgis; Mrs. Ed Morgan, CA; and Mrs. William Calloway, WI; besides a host of friends. Interment was made in Bear Butte Cemetery, Sturgis. Sympathy is extended to the bereaved in this sad hour.
