Henry Hatley Bateman was the 3rd son and 6th child of John Daniel Bateman and Laura Ada Woolley Bateman. He married Ola Mae Liles Bateman on Oct 26, 1915 in Ft. Worth, TX, Tarrant Co. They had 1 son and 2 daughters. Henry's obituary says he was born in Glen Rose, TX, Somervell Co., but all his siblings agreed he was born in Van Zandt Co. TX. Source: Obituary SERVICES SET FOR MR. BATEMAN Final rites for Henry H. Bateman, who died at 2:30 a.m. Monday in M. D. Anderson hospital in Houston, will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday in the Baptist Church in Skellytown, with Rev. Truman Luther, pastor, to officiate. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Duenkel-Carmichael Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be W. T. Cole, George Clemmons, Lonnie Knutson, Jack Seawright, Forest Hankins and Raymond Campbell. Mr. Bateman, born May 9, 1894 in Glenrose, was a retired Phillips Co. employee. He moved to Pampa from Borger in 1941, working for Phillips since 1940. He married Ola Liles on Oct. 26, 1916 in Ft. Worth. Mr. Bateman lived at Phillips Gray Plant, southeast of Pampa, until his retirement last May at which time he moved to Skellytown. He was a member of the Baptist Church in Lefors. Survivors include the wife, Ola; two daughters, Mrs. Iona Cornwell of Skellytown and Mrs. Reba Laster, Stinnett; two sons, Ollene of Gruver and J. T. Taylor, San Antonio; four brothers, Albert and Virgil of Canton, Leland of Wills Point and Clyde of Myrtle Springs. Also five sisters; Mrs. Ora Hall of Abilene, Mrs. Sallie Simpson of Wichita Falls, Mrs. Verlie Snow of Dallas, Mrs. Lera Platter of Canton and Mrs. Monnie Baugh of Edgewood, 12 grandchildren.
