Bio

Mary A. Taddiken was born April 22, 1902 in Brainard, NE. She was baptized July 3, 1902 at Holy Trinity Church in Brainard and graduated from high school in 1920. Mary taught at rural schools in the Brainard area. She married Ernest L. Coufal on October 2, 1922. Ernest died in September 1954. Mary later worked as a nurses aide at the Annie Jeffrey Memorial Hospital in Osceola for five years. She was married to Robert Taddiken in 1961 and worked at Bernt's Cafe in Shelby. Robert died in 1975. Mary had been a resident of the Hearthstone in York for the last seven years. Mary was preceded in death by her husbands, mother Marie (Bubak) Janousek, 4 brothers, sister and son-in-law Floyd H. Tonniges. Funeral services were held at the Metz Mortuary in York with Deacon David Dalton officiating. Burial was in the Shelby Catholic Cemetery.
