Bio

STROMSBURG — Vivian Ann Behrns, 74, of Stromsburg, died Friday, March 29, 2002, at the Midwest Covenant Home. Mrs. Behrns was born Oct. 13, 1927, near Brainard to Ernest and Mary (Janousek) Coufal. She attended rural country school near Gresham and graduated from Gresham High School in 1944. She then began teaching country school. She married Robert Behrns June 16, 1947, in Shelby. The couple moved to Fullerton, then later back to Stromsburg. She began teaching at District 50 School near Stromsburg. She then worked for Mamco Manufacturing Co., the Milk Plant and Overland Sand and Gravel, where she worked for eight years. In 1985, she retired due to health reasons. She enjoyed reading, watching television, cooking and fishing at Harlan County. Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Vincent Ferrer Church in Osceola. The Rev. Thomas McGuire will officiate. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the church with a rosary at 7 p.m. Palmer Funeral Home of Stromsburg is in charge of arrangements.
