Bio
Ernest Loddie Coufal, son of Mr. and Mrs. A.C. Coufal, was born June 27, 1901 at Brainard, Nebraska. He was united in marriage to Mary Janousek on October 2, 1922. This union was blessed with one son and two daughters. Death came suddenly on September 29 as the result of a tragic accident. At the time of his passing he was 53 years, 3 months and 2 days old. Those left to mourn his passing are, his wife Mary; one son: Ernest Jr. of Offutt Air Force Base, Omaha, Nebraska; two daughters: Mrs. Floyd Tonniges of Gresham, Nebraska; Mrs. Robert Behrns of Stromsburg, Nebraska. Besides his wife and children he also leaves his parents, Mr. and Mrs. A.C. Coufal of Gresham, Nebraska; a sister, Mrs. Ben Gonnerman of Gresham, Nebraska and four grandchildren. Funeral services were held at the Sacred Heart Church in Shelby on October 2 with Rev. John Kean assisted by Rev. Howe of Osceola. The Requiem Mass was sung by the choir. Pallbearers were Ray Anderson, Leslie Johnson, Chas. Norman, Oswald Lux, Harold Bunch, Les Graves. He was laid to rest in the Shelby Catholic cemetery.
