Son of Charles William and Mary Ponder. Married Alice M.Lewis 7 Feb.1884 at Lafayette County Arkansas Married Georgia Zenobia Whatley 30 Dec.1891 at Longview ,Gregg County ,Texas . IN MEMORY OF F.M. PONDER by Mrs. Jewell Ponder Aug 3,1941 On Aug. 3 the death angel visited the home of Mr.and Mrs. Robert Ponder of Yowell ,Texas ,and claimed our loving father and grandfather ,F.M.Ponder ,and carried his soul home ,back to the Heavenly Father who gave him to us to love for the past 77 years . Oh, how we miss him in our homes .There is a vacant chair that can never be filled . For several years he had been blind.He never complained of his worldly troubles ,but tried so hard to scatter the sunshine that he could not see around those who came to see him,for he knew that in his heavenly home all would be well ,for there are no blind ones there . His going made heaven nearer. His life here is ended .God in his infinite wisdom saw fit to call him home .How we hated to give him up ,but God is too good to be unkind . He weighed this in His scarred hands before He placed it on our shoulders to bear. May we all meet him in heaven where all is peace and love;no more sad partings ,no tear dimmed eyes . Mr.Ponder leaves his wife .Mrs. Nobie Ponder ,and ten children,Percy Ponder ,Leslie Ponder ,Hollis Ponder ,Clyde Ponder ,Duval Ponder ,Robert Ponder, Fred Ponder , John Ponder ,Mrs Eula Starett ,Mrs.Frankie Conway;Thirty one Grandchildren and five great-grandchildren ,and a host of other relatives ,and friends ,to grieve over his passing . As time passes on ,we can only have the memories to help carry on until God says to each one ,Tis enough .Come home .
