obit from a Johnson County newspaper Anna Fitzgibbon Houston Mrs. Frank Owen Houston passed away at her home on Sunday, March 14, in Kansas City, Kansas. Burial Services were held at the Desoto cemetery on March 17, 1937, at 10:00 am following her funeral service in Kansas City, Kansas. Anna was the eldest daughter of John Clarence Fitzgibbon and Anna Catherine Hergonroder. she was born in Kansas City, Missouri, where she lived for eight years. Her parents owned a Hotel and Saloon from 1880 to 1892 in Kansas City, Mo. The family then purchased a crop and horse farm in Lexington, Johnson County, Kansas, in 1890 and later moved to the Willow Springs district on the farm adjoining the Warsop land, where they lived for many years. Anna had three brothers and one sister.Eventually, Eventually they purchased the well-known Dr. Belt Farm in Labette County, Ks. between Parsons and Oswego. Her obit read "After she grew to womanhood, she was united in marriage to Frank Owen Houston. They were married in Lawrence, Douglas County, Kansas in 1906. One son, Joseph Bernard Houston was born to this union. For many years their home was in Kansas City. Mrs. Houston was a kind and true wife and mother, and was one who had many winning personalities that made her a large number of friends, who will deeply mourn her passing." She was survived by her mother, Mrs. Anna C. Fitzgibbon, Oswego, Kansas; her husband, Frank Owen Houston; her son, Joseph Bernard; one sister, Mrs. Earl J. Lesslie, Topeka, Ks; three brothers, Joseph Edmond Fitzgibbon, Beruyn, Alberta, Canada; John William Fitzgibbon, 1117 Bennington Avenue, Kansas City, Missouri; and Thomas Frederick Fitzgibbon, Los Angeles, California. Please note: Edmond Fitzgibbon, the brother of John C. Fitzgibbon and uncle of Anna Marie Fitzgibbon Houston, is buried in the family plot of John C. Fitzgibbon at Mount St. Mary's Cemetery in Kansas City, Missouri. The 1887 death certificate states his name is Edward. His headstone has his legal name which was Edmond.
