Bio

Theodore Joseph Serbus was born on 19 August 1909, to Frank and Mary Zetah Serbus, in Henryville Township, Renville County, Minnesota. He attended School District #12 in Henryville Township. On 15 October 1928, Theodore married Mayme Anna Horejsi, in Bechyn, Minnesota. Mayme was born on 19 April 1905 to Joe and Mary Macholda Horejsi. Theodore and Mayme had one son, Roland Theodore. They farmed in Henryville Township for many years and after they retired in 1965, they moved to Redwood Falls. Theodore was active with his Church and served as a Catholic Workman and was a member of the School Board for School District #101 Theodore Joseph Serbus died at the age of 86 on Sunday, 16 December 1990, at the Olivia Health Care Center in Olivia, Renville County, Minnesota. He was survived by his son, Roland of Willmar, Minnesota; two brothers, Frank and Edward, both of Redwood Falls; eight grandchildren; and, 18 great-grandchildren. Theodore was preceded in death by his wife, Mayme Anna Horejsi Serbus, who passed away on 12 June 1971; two brothers, and three sisters. Visitation for Theodore was on Thursday, 20 December, from 8:00 to 10:00 a.m. at the Nelson Funeral Home. The funeral service for Theodore Joseph Serbus was held on Thursday, 20 December 1990, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Catherine's Catholic Church in Redwood Falls. Theodore was buried next to his wife, Mayme, in St. Catherine's Catholic Cemetery near Redwood Falls, Redwood County, Minnesota.
