Son of Oliver Adam Kifer and Rebecca Ann Harriger He was killed by a train in Ridgeway, PA. He was going to work in the morning crossing railroad tracks, he stepped out of the way of one train into the path of another train. He was hard of Hearing. ......................... Harold Kifer, 18 years old, employed at the plant of the Ridgway Dynamo and Engine company, met instant death yesterday when struck by a southbound B. R. & P. freight near the plant. The young man had waited for a northbound freight to pass and then stepped on the track directly in front of the engine of the freight going in the opposite direction. A deep gash as cut in the head, fracturing the skull, causing instant death. A small boy was the only witness of the tragic accident. He at once gave the alarm, but it was decided that a physician was not necessary. Young Kifer, who lives two miles from Ridgway, was in the habit of taking a short cut to the Dynamo plant over the hill. Kifer had only been employed at the industry but one week and was learning the trade. The Kane Republican, Kane, Pa. Tues., Aug 28, 1917. Pg 4 Obit provided by Paul Kifer FAG #46948969
