Samuel William Snyder was born in Illinois, March 4, 1860 and passed away at the General Hospital in Denver, Sept. 26, 1946 at the age of 86 years. He moved to Nebraska with his parents when a boy, living north of Cairo. For about 20 years he was a blacksmith in Cairo, his shop being on the place where Al Lyle now lives. He followed his trade 50 years, retiring after a slight stroke. He was married twice, the father of three daughters by his first wife, one by the second. He was preceded in death by both wives and one daughter Flossie. He moved to Denver four years ago to make his home with his daughter. He leaves to mourn his loss, his daughters, Mrs. Delsie Cogger and Miss Wauneta Snyder of Denver, one brother Levi of Hays Center, Nebraska, two sisters, Mrs. George Wabel of Grand Island, Nebr. and Mrs. John Wabel of Hayward, California; five grandchildren. He was laid to rest from the Olingers Mortuary. and burial was in Fairmont, Nebraska.
