Source: Death Certificate: ''''''''''''''' Contributor Linda 46632419 Thank You Miles City Star, Miles City, MT. 11/19/1929 Friday Page3 Mrs. J. Stafford Passes Away Mrs. Emma L. Stafford, who has been ill in the hospital here for the past two weeks, suddenly passed away Wednesday afternoon at 3:45. The end came as a great shock to her husband and friends, as she had been improving greatly and expected to return to her home at Selway this coming weekend. She was taken with a heart attack Wednesday afternoon about 3:15, an though everything possible was done, she quietly passed away about a half hour afterward. Her husband was notified as soon as possible, and arrived in town early Thursday morning. Mr. and Mrs. J. M. Stafford were prominent ranchers in the Selway locality, and had many friends throughout the country, having been located in and around Miles City for 42 years. Mrs. Stafford was born in Illinois, on June 27th, 1861. She was 65 years old when she passed beyond. She is survived by a sister in Grand Island, Neb., a brother in Hayes Center, Neb., and her husband, who lives at Selway, besides a host of friends. Funeral arrangements have been made for 2:30 Saturday afternoon. Reverend Merton S. Fales will be the officiating pastor, and the ceremony will be from the Graves chapel. Interment in the Miles City Cemetery, Miles City, MT.
