Her husband and son are also buried here. ------------- From "Daily Review", Hayward, California dated February 7, 1968: Ella Wabel San Leandro – Service for Ella Wabel, 92, who died in San Leandro Monday, will be held at 2 p.m. tomorrow in Hayward. She is survived by her husband, John A. Wabel of 1424 153red Ave., San Leandro. She was the mother of the late Leonard C. Wabel. She is a native of Nebraska ad farmed there with her husband. They both worked for Western Union and at the Shipyards at Vallejo. They lived in Hayward and moved to San Leandro 22 years ago. The Rev. Paul Rhodes of the First Presbyterian Church will officiate at the services at Pratt-Flierl Mortuary, 1044 C St Hayward. Burial will be at Mt. Eden Cemetery, Hayward. -------------- From "Daily Review", Hayward, California dated Nov. 23, 1956: Sixty Years of Married Life To Be Marked by John Wabels Mr. and Mrs. John Wabel of 1424 153rd avenue in San Leandro will mark 60 years of married life together Sunday. They exchanged vows in Hastings, Neb. Nov. 25, 1896, four years before the 20th century was heralded in. Mrs. Wabel was born Oct 9, 1875 and her husband on Dec. 20, 1875. They lived in Nebraska until 1945 when they came to make their home in California. Wabel has had a versatile career, having worked as a carpenter, blacksmith and painter. He is a member of the local Odd Fellows lodge and enjoys his woodworking hobby. They are parents of one child, a son Leonard Wabel who lives in Martinez. Mrs. Wabel occupies her time with crocheting quilting and church activities. PICTURE 60TH WEDDING ANNIVERSARY…. Married in 1896, Mr. and Mrs. John Wable of 1424 153rd avenue in San Leandro will celebrate their 60th anniversary Sunday.
